Past Theatrical Experience

I am a simple artist and draw things. However my early training was in performance. First as a performer myself and later as a costumer, prop maker, set designer/builder etc. These experiences, in my opinion helped prepare me for show design and production and gave me a better understanding of spacial relationships as in coordination with living players both performers, guests or even animals.

Early years, ballet

Later musicals, song and dance

Rock and Roll vocalist

Favorable Reviews

Award Winning

Teaching at Junior College Level, Theater Crafts

Country Sized Productions such as Singapore’s National Day (my last performance as Sir Stamford Raffles)

Set and Prop Manufacturing

All on a grand scale

Smaller Venues, such as fashion shows and other “trade events”.

Dabbling in SFX Theater Spaces

I had a client in Changzhou who created EMVs for Dark Rides. He was also interested in developing Special Effects Theaters (SFX). Here are just a few of my conceptual sketches for such a medium.

Theater in the Round

Immersive Theater

Hemispherical Theater

And lastly, Thrust Theater

My personal favorites are smaller SFX venues using robotic arms carrying LED Screens and live (or otherwise) 3/D players. I would love to pursue this line of thought but most of my clients do not think this far into the future nor have the money to invest, believing in very “safe” yet more mundane forms of entertainment.

Science Based Family Fun Center in Old Building -concept-

Our team went into an abandoned two-story building in a commercial district, that at one time was a video game parlor. Below are concept sketches, plans, elevations and perspectives etc, trying to convince the client of a NEW use of an OLD space that would guarantee better use of floor space as well as create fun for the entire family and thus insure return visits.

Features Perspectives

The concept was used, but as is the wont with many Chinese clients, the mid-level managers saw no need to consult the original designer (me), so I have no pictures of finished product.
